Keyword Search Browsing Online Journals 24/7 Bread Crumbs and NavigationEnter one or more terms into the search box. When you use the keyword search, you are searching through information about the databases. The fields included in the search are: Database Name and Database Description.
After entering your search, a list of databases matching your search term(s) are displayed.
Click on the name of the database to view information about that database and to see which libraries subscribe. If your search matches only one record, the full record will be immediately displayed.
You can browse Online Journals 24/7 by Database, Library, County or Topic.
You can browse alphabetically through all of the databases in OJ 24/7 by selecing the "Browse Databases" button on the home page. When you select Browse Databases a screen is displayed with the letters of the alphabet at the top and the databases that begin with "A" underneath. Select the letter of the first word of the database to find the one you are looking for. If you do not know the full database name, you may want to try a keyword search.
A drop-down box on the Online Journals 24/7 home page contains a list of all of the libraries included in the database. Select the library in which you are interested and then click on the "Browse Library" button. Some brief information about the library will display at the top of the page, followed by a list of the databases related to that library. Click on the name of the database and you will be taken to the authentication page for that library. Since libraries must purchase subscriptions to these online resources, people must have a valid library card to access the information.
A drop-down box on the home page has the list of counties that are included in OJ 24/7. Some counties have more than one library. The state is included in parentheses following the name of the county. Once you select a county, a list of libraries in that county is displayed. Click on the name of the library to see the full record for that library, including the databases to which they subscribe.
There are three topics included in Online Journals 24/7 currently, Business, Computer & Information Technology and Health Sciences/Medical. Select the topic of interest by clicking on the appropriate orange. A list of databases for the selected topic will be displayed. Click on the name of the database to see more information and a list of the libraries which subscribe.
Once you have performed a search, bread crumbs will appear at the top of each page. You can use these bread crumbs to return to your results list or go back to the main search page. If you click on the header of the page, you will be returned to the main search page or home page for OJ 24/7.
